Luke 4:4 "And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."
I don't always know what to share. So this time I just opened my Bible to one of those red passages and read it. I see two points of prospecctive on this verse.
1. We live by God's word.
2. We do not live by the words of the world.
1. What does the word of God say about us? In 2 Chorinithians 5:21 NLT "For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ." So the Bible says we are in right standing with God through the blood of Christ. That means we don't need to be ashamed. We don't need to hide. We can face our sin, and say, no that's not how God sees me, he sees me washed in the blood of Christ and in right standing. I hope that makes sense to you.
2. The world/people will always try and tell us who we are, but they don't know. They don't know our experiences or the intentions of our heart. They don't know the difference betweeen up and down. The way up is to be humble, the way down is to boast. Matthew 23:12 NIV "For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." (Proverbs 16:18)
